Building OUR shared Vision
Values
One Health: We achieve optimal outcomes by recognizing the interconnection between people, animals, plants, and our shared environment
Radical Inclusion: In skin health and outdoor recreation, there is a massive deficit in access for black and brown communities. Action and sacrifice are required to change this and create a more equitable world for all of us to enjoy.
Mission Alignment: We seek collaboration with individuals and organizations that prioritize sustainability and relationships over profit.
I have aligned myself with Northwest River Supplies (NRS). An organization that regularly puts its values into action to expand river access for all.
Other projects include a snowboarding photoshoot for Cooper Mountain in Leadville Colorado, and with the Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism (ROOST) in the Adirondack Region.
Previous Work
NRS
Together with NRS, we have worked together on three projects. I wrote a feature for their Duct Tape Diaries blog series about being a Black paddler in a white dominated sport after the murder of George Floyd.
I was the feature in the My Home Run film series. This was a feature in the 2022 Paddling Film Festival.
My wife and I modeled for the 2024 NRS product line. The brand book can be viewed here along with features on their social media.
Class of 2024 PITT MED OATH
Together with 12 peers, as I began Medical School in July 2020, we created a new Oath to reflect our shared class values.
This act received attention from national news outlets:
The Washington Post - A medical school class thought the Hippocratic oath fell flat. So they wrote their own script.
CNN - Medical school class writes own Hippocratic Oath acknowledging racism, Covid-19 deaths and the killing of Breonna Taylor
NPR - A New Hippocratic Oath Asks Doctors To Fight Racial Injustice And Misinformation
